Nonogram solver
Type the clues from any nonogram, hanjie or griddler puzzle. The solver shows the answer, tells you whether it is the only one, and can walk through the logic one line at a time.
One line per row or column. Separate numbers with spaces. Use 0 for an empty line.
How the solver works
It looks at one row or column at a time and asks which squares are filled or empty in every way the clue could fit. Those squares are certain. It repeats this across all lines until nothing new can be learned. That is the same reasoning a person uses, so the steps are ones you can follow.
If line logic stops before the grid is full, the puzzle needs a guess somewhere. The solver then tries both choices for a square and checks where each one leads, which also tells you whether the clues allow more than one picture.
Why “more than one answer” matters
A well-made nonogram has exactly one answer. If a puzzle from a book or app has several, it usually means a clue was copied wrong, or the puzzle itself was never checked. Every puzzle on Nonogram Today passes this check before it is published.
Your clues stay in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
